EDUCATIONAL Programs
ShowMakers Theatre
10-12 weeks
This workshop series will focus on creative playwriting and theatre. Using Greek myths and legends as a springboard, scholars will then create and develop their own inspired storylines. They will also design props and sets to prepare for their end-of-series immersive performance. These workshops are aligned with ELA standards.
BioHunt!
8 weeks
In this workshop series, science mashes with culture as scholars embark on a hunt to discover the amazing eco-systems (desert, rainforest, ocean...) that make up our world. Scholars will piece together clues, hear native stories from different cultures, create characters and design props. At the end of each mission, scholars will leave with a deeper appreciation for the land and living things on our planet.
Urban Survivors!
8 weeks
Each week, scholars will race against time to uncover the mysteries of our natural world. They will engage in a non-stop immersive experience and learn about the wonders of our environment with themes such as migration, native species, and predators/prey. Scholars will hear stories, engage in a learning activity and participate in a fun group adventure to find hidden clues. At the end of the series, scholars will be ready to survive any challenge!
Folktales and Fizzes
10-12 weeks
This workshop not only appeals to the storytellers, but also the tastebuds! Each week we will learn about healthy fruits and vegetables grown in different parts of the world. Then, we will hear inspired stories from legends and myths that celebrate the mystery ingredient of the week. After sipping on our delicious mixtures, we will play a fun food- themed game using creative props.
Sports Stories!
8 weeks
In this workshop, scholars will engage in a new sport experience each week! They will warm up with a little “shake and bake” as they practice their moves and skills with fun cooperative sport-themed games. Then, scholars will gather together to watch a storytelling performance which will get them pumped up to play! In the end, your scholar will be a part of an unforgettable sound and sensory experience with a highlight reel that will leave them cheering for more!
Water Tales
10-12 weeks
From pirate stories and surfing to deep sea diving adventures, scholars will be catching all sorts of water-themed tales! Together we will play games and make crafts that will make each scholar feel like they are riding the tide. Scholars will practice storytelling essentials to create their own wet and wild worlds and will be riding the waves in no time!
